Importance of Reducing Educational Inequity by Closing the Digital Gap for High School Students
Abstract
Educational inequity remains a significant challenge in global education systems, with
disparities in access to resources and opportunities disproportionately affecting
marginalized communities. One of the most pressing issues contributing to this inequity
is the digital divide—the gap between students who have access to digital tools,
technology, and reliable internet, and those who do not. This paper examines the
importance of closing the digital gap to reduce educational inequity for high school
students. It explores the implications of the digital divide on student learning, the role of
technology in modern education, and the strategies for ensuring equitable access to
digital resources. By addressing this divide, we can create a more inclusive and effective
educational system that provides all students with equal opportunities for success.
