The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has been instrumental in establishing quality benchmarks for Indian higher education institutions since 1994. This study examines the effectiveness of NAAC accreditation in improving academic excellence across Indian universities and colleges. Through a comprehensive analysis of accreditation data, institutional performance metrics, and stakeholder perspectives, this research evaluates the impact of NAAC's quality assurance framework on teaching-learning processes, research output, infrastructure development, and overall institutional governance. The findings reveal that while NAAC accreditation has contributed significantly to standardizing quality parameters and promoting institutional self-assessment, challenges remain in ensuring consistent implementation of quality enhancement measures across diverse institutional contexts. The study concludes that NAAC accreditation serves as an effective catalyst for quality improvement, though its impact varies considerably based on institutional commitment, resource availability, and regional factors.
