Objective: This study examines digital health equity in telemedicine access and outcomes across different socioeconomic groups, identifying barriers and disparities in healthcare delivery.
Methods: A comprehensive analysis of telemedicine utilization patterns, health outcomes, and access barriers was conducted using mixed-methods research, including quantitative analysis of healthcare utilization data and qualitative interviews with patients and providers.
Results: Significant disparities were observed in telemedicine access and outcomes across socioeconomic groups. Lower-income populations faced substantial barriers including limited internet connectivity, inadequate technology access, and reduced digital literacy. Higher-income groups demonstrated 3.2 times greater telemedicine utilization rates and improved health outcomes compared to lower-income counterparts.
Conclusions: Digital health equity remains a critical challenge in telemedicine implementation. Targeted interventions addressing technology access, digital literacy, and infrastructure development are essential to ensure equitable healthcare delivery across all socioeconomic groups.
